Engineering Performance That Powers Critical Industries

Sunbeam engineers and delivers precision components, systems and maintenance solutions that sustain safety, uptime and performance across railways, mobile machinery, mining and heavy industrial operations. Our work supports equipment that operates in demanding, high-load and safety-critical environments.

For over three decades, we have partnered with OEMs, infrastructure operators and maintenance teams to solve complex engineering challenges—combining domain expertise in hydraulics, automation and engineered components with disciplined execution and lifecycle responsibility.

35+ Years of Sunbeam

From foundational work in industrial hydraulics to advanced support for railway machinery and mobile equipment systems, Sunbeam’s journey reflects a steady expansion of engineering capability and technical responsibility. Over more than three decades, we have evolved alongside India’s core industries—adapting to higher performance demands, tighter safety expectations and increasingly complex operating environments.

Our experience is reinforced by a robust supply and partner network, disciplined engineering processes and a solution-driven mindset. Together, these enable us to help customers improve equipment performance, extend service life and achieve higher levels of uptime and operational reliability.

Sunbeam delivers end-to-end component manufacturing, precision reconditioning and field overhauls for rolling stock and heavy industrial equipment — engineered for safety, uptime and lifecycle value.

Sunbeam began as a precision engineering unit focused on critical railway components. Today we are a full-spectrum heavy-machinery engineering partner — supporting scheduled maintenance, emergency repairs, retrofits and full shopfloor overhauls for locomotives, wagons and industrial drives.
We treat each “small” spare part as part of a system: designing, validating and delivering components that affect safety, performance and lifecycle costs. Our team is led by heavy-machinery engineers with decades of field service and OEM overhaul experience; our processes combine hands-on diagnostics with metallurgical analysis, precision machining and traceable testing, so every return-to-service is backed by data and certificates.

  • Full in-house CAD/CAM, CNC turning/milling, gear cutting, heat-treatment and finish grinding. Reverse engineering service for end-of-life castings and proprietary parts: 3D scanning → material analysis → production drawings → PPAP-style sample validation.

  • Complete tear-down and rebuild of traction motors, gearboxes, wheelsets and brake assemblies. Activities include non-destructive testing (UT/MT), dynamic balancing, shaft straightening, surface restoration (hard facing), bearing re-specification and calibrated reassembly.

  • Field teams trained for planned preventive maintenance (PPM), emergency recovery and hot-line repairs. IoT-assisted diagnostics and portable testing enable quick triage and informed decisions — whether it’s a minor replacement or a modular unit swap.

  • Control system retrofits, improved lubrication systems, lightweight component substitution and energy-efficiency upgrades — designed to extend asset life and lower life-cycle cost.

Engineering Design

We support our customers with an experienced team that will collaborate on your application needs and leverage our in-house design capabilities for applications that have unique requirements. Our expertise includes integrated system design and installation of hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, process control and automation for Mobile as well as Industrial Applications. When working with our team early in application design, we can provide customers with our knowledge and resources to guide your application decisions. From design concept to installation and customer training, you can count on us for smart solutions to complex problems.

Prototype Development

Sunbeam transforms engineering concepts into fully functional prototypes that replicate real-world behavior with precision. Our process begins with detailed feasibility analysis and selection of the right materials, manufacturing techniques, and engineering tolerances. We validate mechanical performance, durability, and design efficiency using iterative testing and refinement. This ensures that every prototype accurately represents the final product’s expected performance in field conditions. Whether developing hydraulic mechanisms, mechanical assemblies, or complex electro-mechanical systems, our team ensures that prototypes deliver actionable insights for further optimization and successful commercialization. The result is faster development cycles, reduced technical risk, and a reliable foundation for large-scale manufacturing.

Manufacturing

Sunbeam supports customers with manufacturing services for in-house designed and engineered products, with a clear focus on batch sizes aligned to the needs of small and mid-sized OEMs. Our manufacturing approach is structured to provide dedicated engineering oversight, controlled execution and consistent quality, even for low- and medium-volume requirements that are often deprioritised by large-scale production facilities.

Our in-house manufacturing capabilities, complemented by a vetted network of qualified vendor partners, allow us to maintain flexibility, optimise lead times and ensure predictable delivery schedules. This hybrid manufacturing model enables Sunbeam to scale output efficiently while retaining direct control over quality assurance, process discipline and performance standards across every order.

The advantage of working with us:

  • Broad engineering coverage across hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and automation components, enabling single-source responsibility
  • Custom-engineered products and integrated system solutions tailored to specific application and operating requirements
  • Predictable and reliable delivery timelines, supported by disciplined planning and execution
  • Strong technical and application support, from design clarification to post-delivery assistance
  • End-to-end logistics coordination, ensuring controlled handling, traceability and assured quality
  • Cost-effective pricing, including support for low- and mid-volume batch quantities
  • A flexible manufacturing partner, capable of adapting to evolving specifications, design changes and project demands

Installation & Commissioning

Sunbeam’s installation and commissioning approach is designed to ensure that systems perform exactly as engineered from the first day of operation. Our teams follow a structured, methodical process that includes on-site alignment, hydraulic and mechanical calibration, safety checks and comprehensive functional testing. We work closely with customer production and maintenance teams to understand operating conditions and integrate systems seamlessly within existing workflows. Every actuator, control element and mechanical assembly is verified against defined design parameters to ensure long-term reliability and performance stability. As part of commissioning, our engineers provide operator training, document critical settings and share best-practice guidelines for sustained operation. Whether deploying heavy-duty hydraulic systems or precision assemblies, Sunbeam ensures a smooth transition from manufacturing to full-scale operation with minimal disruption and optimal efficiency.

Repair & Overhaul

Sunbeam’s repair and overhaul services are engineered to restore critical equipment to reliable operating condition while extending usable service life. Each engagement begins with structured diagnostics, including assessment of wear patterns, mechanical alignment, hydraulic pressures, sealing integrity and structural condition. Based on root-cause analysis, our engineers implement a controlled overhaul program involving precision machining, component replacement, seal renewal, surface treatment and system recalibration. Rebuilt assemblies are validated through defined quality checks to ensure performance consistency and operational integrity. Whether addressing hydraulic cylinders, mechanical assemblies or specialised industrial modules, Sunbeam’s focus remains on reducing downtime, improving reliability and lowering long-term maintenance exposure. Our repair capabilities enable customers to safeguard asset value and sustain uninterrupted operations in demanding environments.

After Sales Support

Sunbeam’s after-sales support is structured to ensure that equipment continues to perform reliably well beyond commissioning. Our teams provide ongoing technical guidance, maintenance planning and troubleshooting support based on actual operating conditions observed in the field. From maintaining hydraulic pressure stability and mechanical alignment to identifying performance deviations at an early stage, our engineers help minimise downtime and extend asset life. Support services include periodic inspections, spares and replacement planning, calibration activities and structured documentation aligned to operational requirements. With a strong emphasis on responsiveness, technical accuracy and lifecycle accountability, Sunbeam delivers consistent support that sustains equipment performance throughout its service life.
